The Ways of Celebration

February 13th, 2008 by Christopher Klein

How do you celebrate?
Do you sit at home, alone, a single candle burning with wisps of incense filling the air? Or do you gather in a group around a roaring fire, friends hand in hand, singing the praises of the goddess?

Celebrate: To observe a day or to commemorate an event with ceremonies or festivals. To make known publicly or to proclaim.

The ways that we celebrate says a lot about how we are on a personal nature. Many times, we will mimic those that have reared us. Big family dinners at Chrsitmas time are often past to the children who will follow the lead of their parents.

The ways of celebration are important to the social structure. Celebrations and holidays give us a change to bring together people thave we have not seen in a long time, or in some cases, rectify issues that we have had with family or friends. Our celebrations are open forums for discussion, communion and resolution.

But still. How do you celebrate? There is no one good answer to this, and there is not a right way or wrong way. The information that we have provided here at Ancient Pathway are the ways that are known to us. I can assure you that the world will not come to an end if you sneeze during a ritual. So enjoy what we have posted here. If you have a preferred ritual or way of celebration, feel free to contact us to add them to our celebration pages.
