The Five of Wands

The Upright Meaning
Strife, trouble, tests, competition, opposition. Success gained through
strenuous and unrelenting hard work. The individual must be willing and able
to successfully adapt to new circumstances, and be willing to adjust his
goals or plans accordingly. There is the promise of successful gains in
business, but only after a period of strife and stiff competition. With
respect to love, it symbolizes the need to recognize that love and respect
must be earned; it cannot be forced. DIGNIFIED, it can indicate marriage,
but one where they may be frequent power struggles between partners.
The Reverse Meaning
Legal disputes that could have been avoided. Sarcasm and spite. Changes
which are not completely necessary nor appropriate. The environment may feel
stifling, but any attempt at change right now could lead to confusion and
frustration. In love, it presages an unrequited or illicit love. It can also
be indicative of a person who indulges in compulsive and unnecessary
competition with others.
