Auras are emanations of energies which surround all living things.
Aura: au|ra - A particular atmosphere or quality that seems to surroudn a person or thing.
From Webster's New World Dictionary (3rd College Edition)
The Aura, sometimes improperly called a human energy field, is present in all of us. But more than that. Any organic form has some form of Aura. It is a field of energy that eminates from each person, animal, tree and rock. Anything that grows and has life, carries with it a resonance that can be intrepted as a color to the trained eye. Inanimate objects, such as a desk or chair, will inherit the auras of those that are close to it for any length of time. Though this will fade with time, a energy residual is usually present, even if it is just a reflection of ones own aura.
Many people can see the Aura in things around them, but since they have done it since birth, are unaware that it is there. It is not until it is explained to them that they relize that they do not have to practice to see these energy fields. Others must train themselves to see them and comprehend their meanings.
There are 4 facets to perceiving and interpreting the energy of the aura.
Layers are determined by color variations.
Within the color, the shape, consistency and clarity all determine the meaning of that layer.
Is the yellow you perceive around the head bright like the sun or dingy and faded? Is the green just an oblong ball around the elbow or is it around the whole body? Does the red appear as a spike flashing across the torso or is it consistently present around the head?
These examples will be further detailed, but you can see the many factors that determine the meaning of what you see. It's important to be as precise as you possibly can during a reading, whether it is for yourself or for someone else. The more you practice your second sight, the more accurate you will become in distinguishing these slight variations.
Color and Clarity
Most methods of aura reading define particular meanings for each color in the spectrum. Definitions for the primary colors are generally consistent, however there are some differences. Become familiar with the common interpretations of the primary colors (red, blue, green, etc.) from these you should be able to decipher the more complex colors of the spectrum (burnt orange, aquamarine, gray, etc). These combination colors generally take on the combined meaning of the primary colors.
In certain circumstances, red equals anger, brown equals deception. Therefore a reddish brown aura would be a combination of both.
The clarity or brightness of the color also plays a key role in color interpretation. Very often a color that appears cloudy has the opposite meaning of it's vibrant and clear counterpart. A vibrant yellow generally means the subject is successful and modest. A dull or cloudy yellow indicates frustration and a tendency to be vain.
Location and Shape
As you learn color definition, you should also become familiar with the location of the color and how the two relate. The location, consistency and clarity of a color within the aura help to determine their full meaning.
A clear, vibrant, and consistent yellow about the head indicates intelligence, wisdom, and success. But if just one of these parameters is modified, the meaning of the color can change. A vibrant yellow around the chest area could indicate compassion, patience and a willingness to give.
You may see a color localized in a specific area (as in the example above). But if you look at the entire aura overall, regardless of layers or color, you may see a hole in the aura. This could indicate a dysfunction in the physical body, such as disease or injury. In most cases the injury or illness may not even be apparent in the physical, but rather is in the beginning stages. This type of deformity in the aura is indicative of long standing problems, such as ulcers, cancer etc. These types of physical ailments use a great deal of energy to form within the body. The hole is an indication that the body is drained of it's recuperative powers and is being forced to pull energy from outside itself in order to feed a symptom inside the body. In some cases you might see a dent in the aura in a particular location.
The aura is not always perfectly egg shaped as often seen in pictures or books. It can be completely flat on one side, or "s" shaped on another. This can occur for two reasons.
How to see an Aura:
There are many ways to see an aura. This is my favorite and I have shown many people this technique and had a good amount of success even with the skeptics.
The first key is meditation. Though seeing the Aura is a simple task, it is only simple once you have mastered it. When you begin your study of the Aura, you should begin by using your favorite basic meditation. Once you have gone into a mental state where you are balanced, and can for a short time, maintain that balance, have a friend or loved one stand in front of a white wall or sheet. Direct sunlight is the best for illumination, but a bright light (over 100 watts) will work. Stare directly at the crown of the head of this person. Keep your eyes focused directly above the forehead, and using your peripheral vision, look at the outline of their skin. The person does not have to be skyclad (naked) for this to work as the Aura will penetrate the clothing. At first, it may be hard to see, but with practice, you will see a colored second skin overlaying the body. It may be very light and even in motion, but it will eventually be there. Once you are accostomed to identifying it for the first few times, it will become much easier.
It took me about 3 weeks, trying twice a day before I was able to identify my first Aura. Once I got to that point, it was less than a month before I could do away with the bright light and the white background. Now, 25 years later, they are second nature to me.
The Meaning of Colors:
Even though there is a lot more to an aura than the color that is transmitted, quite a bit can be learned simply from the feeling that you get from the person and the color that is transmitted. The basic answers to the question of the colors are here:
Pink : Pink is the color of love when you are considering Auras. It is a good sign to see this color in an persons personal energy field. This person is full of love and you will find them to be open and carry with them friendly vibrations. The are feeling good and they are open to both giving and receiving love.
Green : It is always good to find green in an energy field. Green is the color of the healing self. Many times you will find this color in the fields of medical professionals. It will indicate not only the posibilities of a healing touch, but a person that is healthy and free of pain. If you see a deep green that encompasses a full aura, you will usually find that this person was very ill and is now fully recovered.
Blue : The color of peace, tranquility and understanding. When you come across a Blue Aura, you will find yourself at rest and at ease.
Yellow : Yellow is the color of communication. When your Aura is yellow, you will find yourself in a barrage of telephone calls. This is the perfect time to write emails or letters or start a writing project. You will find that your words will flow.
Purple : In society, purple is the color of royalty. But when you are dealing with metaphysics, you will find that the Purple Aura will indicate deep spirituality. These are the people that are searching for the higher purpose in life or searching for the gods.
Red : The color red is a quandry when it comes to Auras. There can be both a good Red and a malevaland Red. You have to take the time to feel the person out to see which direction this color is taking them. Red can be a color of deep seeded anger and destruction, or it can point to a swell of sensuality. In many cases, Red will be a color of anger. But that anger could belong to the person that you are looking at, or it could have easily been siphoned off of another. It is best to be cautious when dealing with a person wth a Red Aura.
Orange : Orange bring energy and happiness. Orange is a color of bliss like joy. Being around a person with an Orange Aura will make you feel alive and excited about your life. You can at this time find joy in the simple things in life.
Gold : Gold is above Purple in the colors. It is a mark of deep unyeilding spirituality. When you come across Gold, you will usually find a psychic or highly spirtual force at work. Many times, you will find Gold spiriled in with other colors.
Grey : Grey is not a good sign. With Auras, it is unlikely that you will ever find black, but Grey is as close as you will get. Grey is a color of sickness or fatique of the spirit. This is not a healthy color and if left unchecked can be consuming.
White : White is the color of power and protection. It indicates peace, protection and balance.
