Urban Legends

An Urban legend is a short tale that is told and retold as true, although there is usually little or no basis in reality or it cannot be confirmed one way or another. Whether we know it or not, we have all heard them, and most of us have retold these fantastic stories.

To help put out forest fires, helicopters will often scoop large containers of water out of lakes and oceans to dup on the blazes. During one such occasion, a man enjoying a bit of scuba diving was accidentally scooped up and dropped into the burning trees.

There are many classifications for Urban Legends. We are going to bring them to you along with any history of the facts behind them.

You would never have guessed the amount of legend and lore that are in the trucking industry. I know that i did not. I have always known of the old song of Phantom 309 and the story of Big Joe. The mysterious trucker that sacrificed his rig to save children that were in his path of travel. I have always loved that song, but i did not realize, that late at night on Route 66, Big Joe and Phantom 309 travel looking for lost travelers. Soon, I hope to bring you some real life accounts of stories from this industry.
