My world
Let me take you on a journey within the deep recesses of my mind.
First I will ask you to relax.
Close you eyes and take my hand and I will carry you on the wings of my imagination.
Let the winds billow through your silken hair.
Let the sweet moisture in the air fill your body as we rise above the earth.
It slips below us and we fly onward toward our destination.
The first stop will be the land of the white dragon.
Our feet touch the damp ground and the warm air of the cavern licks past your cheeks.
You pull close to me in fear and I lay my arm across your shoulder.
I smile and let you know that everything is alright, there is nothing to fear in this place.
We enter the cave and approach the beast.
It welcomes us and we sit at his massive feet, hand in hand.
We talk of the world as it used to be and eat bread dipped in sweet honey.
And the dragon laughs with us.
Then it is time to be off.
We take flight once again and I carry you to the land of the Huebird.
We sit for hours and talk as we watch the antics of the fowl.
It darts toward us and away again, its bright colors shimmer and vibrate with our laughter.
It squeaks and squawks as if to imitate our joviality until the time comes for us to leave.
I promise you one last stop that is meant just for the two of us.
I hold you in my arms and pull you close to me.
I whisper in your ear that there is something ahead that will change your life.
You smile and place your head against my chest as we softly set down on the rocks of a beach.
We stare out across the waves and you tell me that it is beautiful.
There is no way that you could prepare for what happens next.
The sun falls toward the sea and rays of orange and purple fill the evening sky.
We watch as the setting sun plunges into the sea itself with a sizzle.
As the last of he solar hues fizzle to an end and the stars begin their enamored dance with the night,
I reach over and kiss your soft cheek and bring you back to the real world.
