Sleeping

Sleeping with my eyes open and living with them closed
It takes more than eyes to see with clarity in life.
It also takes the heart and the soul.
You must care for others and not just yourself.
You must know when a friend needs to be held
And when they need to be alone.
But most of all you have to let them be themselves.
Do not change them into what you are
But love them for what they are.
And for what you are when you are with them.
