To care
I left you without a word.
But did you ever wonder why?
Yes!  I did care about you.
More than you ever could have known.
Yes! You did care about me.
I could see it in the way that you looked at me.
Did I have another that I would run to?
No!  There was no one that could compare to you
When you and I were what we were.
So why did I leave you without so much as a word?
Because though your eyes were soft
And your touch was warm
And your feelings ran so deeply that we could drown
That was all that there was.
Because in the end, you cared more for me
Than you did for yourself
And I could not live with that guilt.
